No matter what discounts you find, it's not cheap. There aren't any large discounts to get into Disney any longer.

If you've never been, it's worth a trip. Or, go to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure, it's different than Disney (more ride-based rather than theme-based) but still a lot of fun. Close to the same price, however.

There really is a reason MILLIONS of people go to these parks each year.

The reason I have never been to either Disney World or Wild Adventures is because neither was around the last time I lived in the United States. I left Jacksonville for the US Army and Vietnam in 1968, and haven't been back but to visit my parents since then.
I returned to Jacksonville last week for good with my wife, who really wants to go to Disney World, so we probably will next week.

Never been to Summer Waves, but that's another cheap water park not too far away (about an hour north)

What?

Why would you suggest someone drive from Orange Park to Jekyll Island to go to a water park that you've never been to, know nothing about, and therefore can't recommend, when Adventure Island is right here in Jacksonville?

Hey, I know...

Whitey's fish camp in Orange Park is a great place to eat. I've also heard that there is another similar restaurant in Cap Code Massachusetts that you can try, although I've never been, and can't tell you anything about.

Cause they might have never heard of it and can research to decide if they want to go? Calm down, buddy, nothing to get upset about. And your analogy is poor...very few people, if anyone, travel to Cape Cod from FL just to have one meal. Apparently, people do go to Summer Waves from Jacksonville.

For a fish camp dinner experience, especially for kids but fun for adults, too, I'd recommend Clark's Fish Camp because of the, um, interesting decor ... all the taxidermy, the aquarium, and the usual baby alligators outside. Clarks Fish Camp

Day activities: go to St. Augustine and take a tour train, visit Ripleys, the Alligator Farm, Marineland, the mini-golf and go-karts at the outlet mall.

I would choose Clark's over Whitey's any day of the week, not just for the décor but for the food quality too.
