....or am I imagining it? I was in Jacksonville this past week. My fourth visit for work. Each of the four times I've visited, I've stayed in a different hotel. And, well, the water stank. It had what I can only describe as a faint general "sewer" smell. Is this just standard for Jacksonville? If so, do you all just... live with it or have filtration systems helped? The idea of regularly bathing in water that smells like sewage isn't too appealing to me as I'm considering a move to Jax for a new job.

I can't comment on hotel water, but my tap water is just fine - no stink nor bad taste.

I don't live in Jax (or FL for that matter although we're looking to move to St. John's County). In my experience, all of FL water smells like sulfur, unless filtered

That's a very general comment. Here in PVB water is just fine. Can you tell us where you have sampled water in Florida?

Maybe I should have googled before asking here. Seems I'm not alone in this perception...

My friends live in St. John's County and all they've ever said about the water is that its hard. After they moved in they had a chance to purchase a water softener, but it cost $6,000. They said no and just live with the hard water.

My parents lived in Cedar Hills and while I wouldn't describe the tap water as "stinking" you could smell the chlorine from the next room. Worst tap water I have ever experienced but I've never lived full-time in Florida.

Yes, it seems so. We have been here for two weeks and it has a smell to it. We didn't drink it because we always drink bottle.

Yeah, I don't tend to drink tap water anywhere I've lived. But what about bathing in smelly water in every day? Ugh.

Since we all bathe and drink said stinky water, you can safely assume everyone else smells the same way and eventually the smell goes away.....kind of like walking into an elderly person's home and it smells musty to you but they can't smell it at all.

Welcome to Florida!
