My spouse doesn't care for varied cuisine, so he doesn't have to torture himself and I don't have to make big plans. They're already done for me, reservations and all that. I probably wouldn't have ever visited those restaurants without the group.
That sounds fun. How do I contact this group?

PePe's would not be far from you. It is in the Dupont Station shopping center on St. Augustine road just passed University. It is very authentic and even has a mexican grocery attached. The tamilies at the checkout are so good. I always picked some up when I paid my bill and used them for lunches.

The cleanist Mexican Resturant I have every been in. They advertise in the MINT.

I don't have to worry about missing my BBQ, I can cook that myself.

Anyone tell me a good Mexican Food restaurant anywhere in town?

I live south, Bartram area, but willing to drive for good mex food.

Thanks.

Debi
If you mean Bartram, as in NW St. Johns County, then come on up San Jose in Mandarin and try Don Juan's for dining out and La Napolera at San Jose and Orange Picker for mid-week dinner meals.

I like Rosy's by Lowe's a whole lot better than Don Juan. I was really disappointed when we finally check them out.

I haven't tried Rosy's. I am pretty cheap when it comes to Mexican food. I'd go back to Don Jauns or try Rosy's if others in my group wanted to, but if I am going to pay that much for a meal, I'd choose a steakhouse, Thai, a nice Italian or seafood restaurant.

When we go out for Mexican, our friends always pick Mi Toros. It is at the corner of San Jose and Old St. Augustine, in the shopping center that has Big Lots and Bubbles Car Wash. It is in an old Pizza Hut building near Bubbles.
Last time I went, I ordered a beer. The waiter asked me if I wanted a little beer or big beer. I made the mistake of ordering a big one. It was gigantic. It took two hands to pick it up!

If I'm picking, I pick La Nopaleras.

La Nopalera is OK but I'd really like to find a taqueria type place where I can get grilled chicken tacos with cilantro and onion.

But I do have to say La Nopalera is the best mexican I've found (so far!) here in Jacksonville. I'm going to have to give Pepe's Hacienda a try.
