This Florida Softshell Turtle wandered through our yard yesterday morning. Not sure where she had come from, but it was my guess she was headed to a retention pond a few doors down. She was probably 20" +/- from snout to tail and thankfully didn't mind me out there snapping photos.

Love the shot of the woodstork, what a cool photo. The turtle's always a nice find too.

I was watcing an Osprey last weekend at the fountain/pond at FCCJ,

Nice pics jpm32226 - I love how you caught the turn of the wing on the osprey.

mawipafl - did that bugger try to bite you when you got close for the pic? I think turtles are so cool.

My husband picked one up not long ago (he relocates lost turtles ) and put it on the floor of the passenger side of the car.

He handles Snappers and various other types of turtles, so he usually knows what to expect, but the Softshell came after him! It was trying to climb across the hump of the floor and was making threatening sounds....he could not get it into the water fast enough!
