All,

We are looking to relocate from Boston to the St. John's country area's such as, JCP, Mandarin, Fruit Cove, etc., we are also considering Ponte Vedra. Our biggest concern is finding jobs in IT, which I have see some, but if anyone can point us in the right direction, it would be appreciated.

Yes, we have had enough with the winters and cost of living up here and have family in Fruit Cove.

Thanks

Of the areas you mentioned, Mandarin is not in St. John's County. Close to Fruit Cove though. As for IT jobs, you may want to check out Citibank, they tend to hire a lot in IT (mostly credit card division), also BofA and Blue Cross may be possibilities. You might also want to check out Dice.com for IT postings, but most of those postings are through consulting companies. Citi isn't doing too well right now, nor is Blue Cross, but you never know with IT jobs.Oh, and Deutche Bank is hiring. There's another thread about that you may want to check out.

If you have family in Fruit Cove, and you want to live close to them, then you should consider JCP, CR210 area, and WGV. Some of this also depends on where you end up working. If you work in Southside or downtown area, then you may want to lean towards CR210 and WGV since you have quicker access to I-95. As agreatlife pointed out, Mandarin is not in St. Johns County. It is a nice area, but you may as well live in St. Johns County for the schools (assuming you have children).

Hi John!

My husband is in the IT industry. He is a contractor working on a contract for Fidelity National Information Services: Mortgage, banking and financial software, IT outsourcing Take a look at their site and let me know if you are interested in talking to someone there. Or if you would like some help in finding some recruiters to help you.

I miss the Northeast winters but really like Jacksonville.

The Mandarin area has wonderful schools, also.
