I just got a callback for a 2nd interview. Unfortunately, I only have one interview outfit right now - one suit, one dress shirt, one tie. Do you think it's okay to wear the same outfit or should I at least get a different shirt and/or tie? The people doing the interview will be the same as the first interview.

Probably your cheapest option is new tie and shirt.
Do you live near a thrift store/consignment store? I would recommend you try them...maybe you can get another jacket.

You should always have 2 interview outfits, if possible. I know I only have one for winter and one for summer but so far that is all I have needed.

Good luck!

Congratulations on getting a second interview! I would get another tie, and ideally another shirt. If you are trying to save money, check out a consignment or thrift store.

Wow, thanks for all the quick input! And I love when everyone gives the same answer. Makes it a lot easier.

I've checked all the local thrift/consignment stores already. Unfortunately, I'm short and slender which makes it near impossible to find shirts that fit me. Guess I'll head back to Ross.

If it's a white shirt, you can wear the same shirt but definitely change the tie.

I'm not sure where you live but ties are relatively inexpensive. Just get a nice one, not a garish one.

Ideally you should have a blue suit and a black one. Then you can mix and match once you get the job (if you need to wear a suit).

Whatever you buy, make sure it is comfortable. The last thing you need to do is worry about your clothes not fitting.

I'd go to the Salvation Army or Goodwill to get another outfit or shirt at least. I got a blazer there for $5. I could probably run over to the Sal right now and pick out two more interview outfits within an hour and only spend $20.

Um................my suggestion, while a second shirt and tie would be perhaps a good idea, if money's tight, I'd just go with the same outfit. After all, it worked the first time, didn't it? Got you a second interview. Perhaps whatever positive vibes you triggered the first time would be sent the second time, a sort of subliminal message---you liked me the first time, you like me now!

Also, men don't remember clothing like women do. I wouldn't incur extra expenses with a new shirt & tie when you have something that obviously worked the first time.

Good luck!
