No, it is people with experience. The recruiter is working for a fee. He or she only gets the fee if you are hired. So in essence you messed up the ladder of communication. The recruiter was upset because you may have hurt your chance. Although she was extremely unprofessional, you should always contact the recruiter. We are all trying to help you, those of us with experience.

I am shocked the career center told you to call the employer. Maybe you misunderstood them and they told you to call the staffing agency. Now you know for next time.

If one of them screamed at me, I would have hung up on her. Who wants someone like that as their dealmaker?

I would have told that recruiter to go choke on something. I don't think you were out of line at all. Her on the other hand........

I've been in and around a lot of ghettos and people raised there. While Koale's post doesn't state what I would do, there is nothing "ghetto" about it. Go hang out on public transportation in a huge city and you'll find out what ghetto is.

If that recruiter yelled at me on the phone, I'd hung up on her. Recruiters and temp agencies are mostly garbage anyways; you're paying a part of your wages to those people. Furthermore, companies that use temp agencies a lot tend to be bad employers.
