You put a comment on a public forum and then tell another member they aren't allowed to respond? It doesn't quite work that way.

I read the first two sentences of every cover letter I get. If it engages me, I read the rest. Only one in 10 make me want to read more than the first two sentences and then move on to the resume.

Those that are capable of doing so are the ones I want to consider hiring. Those who don't bother to spend five minutes writing a cover letter are just wasting my time.

Effective written communication is crucial to our companies success, and I want to immediately weed out the applicants who can't construct a compelling written communication.

By the way, my strategy seems to be working, I've grown this company by 500% in the three years I've been here, to the point that I was made a partner last year. So what were you saying?
Do you honestly read the entire cover letter?

That poster follows me around from board to board which i believe is harassment. I also stated that I have to interest in speaking with her on any topic so she should be able to accept that and talk to other members. Why would she keep responding to me when I clearly said I don't want to be bothered?

I read the first two sentences. I continue with the rest of it if the first two sentences have engaged me enough to do so. I hire sales, marketing, and business development positions. Being able to get someone to want to read what you have to say, to grab their attention in the first ten words is crucial. Those who can't sell themselves to me aren't going to be able to sell my company to a prospective customer.

Like I said, 1 in 10 have the talent to be compelling.

Even if I'm 100% absolutely sure about someone, I still have them interview with one of my partners, and have an administrative person do the various pre-employment verifications.
If I hired someone to be a manager and he cant' make a hiring decision ALONE then I'd fire his ass! LOL

Like I said, public forums, I don't see the problem.

You are obviously NOT a manager or an owner. I am. When you've got the experience, spew whatever crap you want. Until then,

I respond to posts on threads to which I have something to offer and my posting record amply attests to that. If you feel that I'm harassing you then take it up with the moderators and stop with the silly comments which seem to border on paranoia.

That's exactly what I'm going to do speak to the administrators and moderators because it's clear you don't understand that I don't want you speaking to me on these boards.

Fed up with the harassment and stalking.
