Exactly. The OP gave the company a deadline to get back to him on his salary requirements. The company probably laughed at that and found it pompous.
As Bob said unless you're a high leve exec or an actor negotiating your multi million dollar picture deal you don't give a company a deadline.
The ball is in their court on when they will get back to you.
