I have been trying to get a promotion at my job for the past year. I've interviewed for four management positions with different divisions at my job and been rejected for all four. Would it be okay for me to ask the manager of the last position for some interview feedback?
Of course you can. I would say that you are interested in growing within the company, but you keep being denied promotional opportunities, followed by, "what can I do to make myself a better canditate for a management position?
Your manager should be able to provide you with some insight. In addition, your manager can speak with the other managers in order to provide you with some meaningful feedback.
Well I've never done an interview with my current manager before so I was thinking of asking the actual manager that I interviewed with.
But your manager deals with you on a daily basis. They're going to have more insight than some person you interviewed with one time.
These managers may have even gone to your manager to discuss you.
Depending on the protocol of your company.
