I was thinking of buying a black dress and a burgundy blazer (see photos below) for my next job interview. I was wondering if the longer black dress would be just as appropriate to wear as the knee length version. I'm planning on wearing black opaque tights (which cuts down on worrying about a knee length dress "riding up" above my knees when I sit down) so I guess it doesn't really matter if I go with the shorter version. It's just that wearing the longer dress eliminates the "riding up" concern completely. However, if the knee length dress is considered more appropriate for an interview, I'll go with that version (despite the fact that I find longer dresses more comfortable to wear in general). Thanks in advance for any advice/opinions!
Do not wear the ankle length one. You'll look like a Pentecostal, Amish or a Duggar. Just no.
Pentecostals do not wear ankle length dresses and they do not wear tight clothing like that.
The Amish always have a bonnet on and they also do not wear ankle length dresses or tight clothing.
What is a Duggar?
OP: Wear what you are most comfortable in that is appropriate for the specific job you seek.

I interviewed yesterday (more today) and to be honest, with the female applicant coming in while I was seated, leaning over the table to shake hands, and sitting for the interview, I have no idea what the length of her skirt was. It's not something that I would normally notice, and is certainly not anything that would affect her ability to do the job.
Really?? I see maxi lengths all the time. It's always appropriate.
Maxi skirts are perhaps appropriate for business casual although, IMO, it seems a little too casual for an interview. Although if one has the body type and can style it appropriately, it might be okay depending on the office culture.
Maxi skirts would be inappropriate for an office that requires business professional attire.
If OP is choosing from the dresses in the attached photos, she should definitely go with knee length. That ankle length dress looks drab and unflattering.
