CL is useful for me. I got hired on the spot all the time from CL. I also like indeed that it gather jobs from other sources and link to indeed. I only look for jobs that pay commission because I can't work full time. All my works are from home.
If the company doesn't reveal their name or any contact information in their Craigslist posting, I'd be very careful about sending a resume. However, scams are quite easy to spot IMO.
I've seen CL postings which withhold company name and have the audacity to ask for 3 references in addition to the resume. Sorry, but you ain't getting that if I don't know who you are.
Agree about the quality of CL postings -- few legit postings, and lots of scams. Lots of part-time work, too. And recruiting companies also post on CL anonymously to try and fish for more leads.
I recently have tried Craigslist for gigs in field and for stopgap work. It's a pain when the employers don't reveal who they are. It makes it difficult to track who I applied to and what is a new listing, big timewaster. I applied for 20 jobs and only received back one reply, a rejection letter due to receiving too many responses. They used the CL relay, so I don't even know who rejected my application.
I actually got a 6 figure job from craigslist, I'm trying to leave now because the company is terrible. That will be the last time I apply to a executive job on craigslist.
Well since you received the rejection letter that means the job ad was legit.
Yes true it is legit, but no good for my time management since I won't know if I apply to a similar anonymous ad whether it is the same company or not.
