New to the forum and hoping to get your advice. (Note: when referring to recruiter, I'm talking about a third party "head-hunter")
Approx 6 weeks ago I was solicited by a local, well-known recruiter about a possible opportunity. I met with the recruiter and they thought we should take the next step and submit my resume to the employer. Three weeks go by and I hear nothing, I contact the recruiter and they confirmed they weren't interested. Oh well, I moved on and I haven't heard from recruiter since.
Fast forward to late last week, I'm contacted by a different recruiter (completely different company). I met with him and it turns out he had me in mind for the exact same position at the same company. He was able to give me a lot more helpful info and seemed very confident in my experience and skill set. He also thought we should move forward with submitting my resume.
So my dilemma is, should I let the current recruiter know that my resume has already been forward to the company? Is there any reason this could effect my chances of interviewing? If it means anything, it seems like the current recruiter has a better relationship with the employer.

Yes, absolutely! Recruiter #2 will not be happy to wind up with a double-submission, and you might burn your bridge at the client, as they don't want to be involved with a fight between two recruiters arguing over who gets the fee.
Tell this new recruiter. Ask him/her for their advice.
