I had an initial phone interview with a recruiter on March 27 that went really well. She seemed very interested in me, but the time table had been pushed back due to the virus we're all dealing with.

She said she would reach out to me again to re-schedule a more formal phone interview around April 6th.

I don't want to seem desperate but don't want to seem like I've lost interest, either. I like to be pro-active but not pushy.

I may give it a couple more days to see if she e-mails me again before I drop her a note just to follow up, if she doesn't write me first.

I'm not sure what to write to her then, though.

Honestly, I looks like it will be this Summer at the earliest before they can do anything anyway, but I still want to keep in touch until then.

First, wait for her to reach out.

If she doesn't do so by the end of this week, call her and say you're following up.

OK, I just got an automated e-mail from them about how the position is on hold for now due to the virus, so I'll just sit tight for now.

You may want to stay in touch with the recruiter will a call or email every 6 weeks or so, so they keep you “on their radar”.
