No. YOU are OTD if you do not understand the words you are stating.
...and WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE
(Sorry, I couldn't resist the opportunity )
Aha. So my mother who davened Shachris for three hours every Shabbos morning, painstakingly enunciating every word because of her limited Jewish education, was OTD because she did not understand what she was saying. I see.
...and WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE
(Sorry, I couldn't resist the opportunity )
I'm not Judging. I'm stating fact. In Judaism, As in Islam, one must read the Tanakh in its original language so there is no loss in translation. Since you are a woman in a man oriented Haredi world, not matter what you state here you are not privy to what as man learns. In her world the words of the lead Rav is taken literally without question. So whatever they state the words mean it is taken as truth. So when you daven you simply read the words because you were "told" what they meant. For this reason the books outside of Orthodox have an English side, so even if they cannot understand the words they are stating at least they know what they mean (some books are written and translated better than others).
