Even more obvious is that you are uniquely poor interpreter of data.

It is not a college town exclusively as it is also the state capitol. It has the best economy of all Midwest smaller metros and is a cultural hybrid of the Great Lakes region (Chicagoland and Milwaukee) as well as Minnesota. Madison has a 4.5-5% unemployment rate while some of the outlying towns are lower than that. I would prefer to move back to NH down the road as I would save a substantial amount of money in taxes.

No links. Sample size and metro size would be important factors here.

That wind chill is Only for 24 hours for Monday into Tuesday. We enjoy mild temperatures from Spring until Fall with Summer average high temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s with 50s for lows. I am a Winter person as I like the snow. The strong winds with -23F I could do without, but that means far less bugs and pests this year. Tradeoffs, eh? The last time Madison was -20F or lower was 2000 so these strong arctic outbreaks are not very frequent these days as the climate has warmed.

For those who are considering moving here..........notice the hostile posts here. You can learn a lot from observing. Look at how the people here are posting. Very hostile and they are like that in real life!! One of friends who lives here and is about to move as well, said she has been harassed by many people here in KC because they disagree with her being an atheist. If you are subjected to harassment and humilation because you won't subscribe to any of that religious bull then really take note of that. I'm serious! This is 2014 not 1914 unless you live in KC!

Nonsense. I'm openly an atheist and I've never heard ONE word of argument, scorn or disagreement from anyone in KC.

Kansas City actually has a lower percentage of religious people than the US average, but don't let facts get in the way of your confirmation bias.
