I recently moved from KCMO, but still follow KCTV5 on Twitter & Facebook. I can't get to their Facebook account before they delete the details/comments of people.

I guess I am just nosy. Does anyone have the scoop?

KCTV 5 is the worst tv station in the country. They are all about ratings and "shock" news, even if they have to create news themselves. There are some bad tv news stations out there, but I have never seen one as bad as kctv. They are a disgrace to CBS "news". The 50 or so stories they did on the Plaza "rioting" is just one recent example.

You are entitled to your opinion. Personally I was fond of KCTV5. And TRUST me when I say that any KC news station is better than what I am currently getting in the middle of Wyoming.

Channel 5 is tabloid "gotcha" journalism at its very worst.

KCTV5 is horrible, especially the meteorologist team.

OMG, I forgot about that, good lord, everybody run, you will all die! There is a thunderstorm in some county north of St Joseph! Lets plaster the tv screen with massive maps and text crawls! Run Run Run everybody!

I work for another TV station in town. It's my professional view the move is also money-related. Greg Adaline doesn't cost as much as Chris Pisano. Kelly Jones doesn't cost as much as Dana Wright (not sure if Dana's salary will change right away as a full time reporter).

Despite their image, KCTV did win the 10pm newscast in February. The news News Director and General Manager are working to repair the station's reputation.
