I'm considering a move to McPherson and would like to know any positives or negatives. I'd like a community that is thriving, appreciative of the arts, good walking (in town, near town, etc.)...I guess I'm looking for small town Americana. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm currently in a small town in Utah, VERY conservative. My mother was from Independence, Kansas, and I am from the Ozarks but don't have any personal knowledge of McPherson. Thanks.

I lived in McPherson for 20 years. It is a rich town having a lot of ppl with money but it has the old time flavor of a small town. Wichita is an hour away in case you want to go shopping in a larger city. McPherson was a great town.

Great Community with a little bit of everything. Great Golf courses, great shooping varieties, a very safe and conservative mindset,.... and certainly close enough to wichita or salina for additional shopping pleasures.
