I'm originally from the Lawrence area but our family now lives in the Phoenix Az area. I am desperate to move back to Kansas! My husband works as a computer tech-how are the job opportunities for that line of work in the more rural areas? ( I was thinking SE Kansas, but I'm not picky) I am an assistant horse trainer, and I'd like to start my own horse training business, so I figure that would go over fine, but I'm concerned about where my husband will be able to find work. (not to mention, he absolutely refuses to live anywhere where he won't have his high-speed internet! ) Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Celeste

Grayhorse SE Kansas probably wouldn't be the best area for a computer tech... I don't know if there are any computers out there... hehe Just Kidding. But in all honesty you would both be best suited for probably Overland Park. I don't know what price range you're looking for, however I know O.P has some of the top tech jobs in at least the Midwest possibly the Nation. Thanks to many many Fortune 500 region offices here. My mother cleans houses for several wealthy families in Overland Park and it was to my surprise there are a significant amount of equestrian's in Overland Park. Along with horse farms or basically rented space to store your horses. Sorry if my terms are off a bit, I'm not very well versed in horses. I just know the market is still alive and well in Overland Park and some of the surrounding cities.

P.S Overland Park has Internet connections up to 10mb a second for personal use pushing 36gig a second for some of the business Internet backbone connections. Is that fast enough for your husband?

I would also think the NE corner of the state will be your best bet for hubby's work and your work also. Lots of horses & barns up around there. You ride/train english or western? Both are popular.
