Hanalei is north Poipu is south (does it really look better? I didn’t think so. I thought Hanalei did) The places to see are north and south and east and west….BUT there isn’t a highway from north to west….So, if we stay in hanalei, we’d have to go all around the island to get to the west……..wherever we stay, we’ll have to travel a long time to get to other places……..cause the attractions are spread around……we COULD stay on the east coast….but I don’t know if it looks good (can you check)? Options: stay north (Hanalei). More rainy. Travel south and west to see attractions. Hour or so to the south. 1.5 hours to the west. stay south (poipu). Sunnier. Travel north and west to see attractions. Hour to north. Half hour to west. stay on east coast. Half hour to both north and south. 1 hour to west. Don’t know if it’s sunnier or not. don’t go to Kauai. ????

someone asked about the activities we're into....so that you guys can tell us where we should stay....i listed those....and after thinking a bit more, came up with alternatives in the above post....please advise....we need to book asap in order to avoid having to pay higher rates for the hotels/condos later on....
