I haven't read any real positives on Georgetown schools. What specifically is the problem? Are there better schools than others in Georgetown?

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Default This can't help

Georgetown is in Scott county - and a bedroom community for those that work in Lexington and Frankfort.

What age groups are you considering?

There are several great elementary schools in Georgetown, including Anne Mason, Northern, and Western. Fantastic teachers, strong curriculum, and a good sense of school pride and community.

The problem is that there are only two middle schools and a single high school for the county. To put it bluntly, in communities like Lexington you can pick a more local high school that is homogeneous to your local neighborhood. In Georgetown, every single student in the county is at the high school, the good and "bad". And yes, like many towns in the area, there are some drug issues in several specific neighborhoods. Kids from those neighborhoods are attending the same school as everyone else in high school.
