all this talk about the scenery and the colours and sights are making wantto come down tonight..but is the best areas to live is or are lexington and even richmond or georgetown.. i seen some of the houses and apts there and seem like the best deals there but im still torn between then
If you live in Lexington, you will encounter maddening traffic, especially during the school year at UK. I think any of the towns that surround lexington are the way to go. If it were me I would prefer the following: Versailles, Georgetown and Paris. Richmond is a nice town, but it's a little further out than the aforementioned.
i have looked at georgwtown and the maddening traffic im not worried about since i live in a college town(newark ,de) but i willdef give anothe rlook at versalles and georgetown
Hello there. I would suggest Western Kentucky as one of the most beautiful areas of Ky. with Ky. being one of my top three choices fo the fifty states for a lot of reasons not the least of which is inexpensive property and natural beauty. I would suggest you do some research on Lake Malone. Kentuckys best kept recreational secret. I would tell you more about it but Kimmiekey is a moderator and has the powers to send me into the corn field. Therefore I must be careful not to sound as a salesman. She is my friend but in the words of Kristofferson, "rules are rules and any fool can see". Hello KimmieyKy.
I'll second that the drive out Athen-Boonesboro road is beautiful! Stop at Haw's on the River for a bite to eat. After that you can go on down to Ft. Boonesboro.

I sure miss seeing Kimmieyky posts since she got her new job. Kimmiey was instrumental in my moving to Kentucky...later this month.
Remember that wall? Well I hit it. It seems, for the time being anyway, we are not going anywhere. I have been checking in though to see how things are going, especially with your move. I am so happy for you and Donna. As there isn't much else to say right now, I will say this, "thank you". That goes out to you and Kimmie and Joanna and all of the others who offered up great advice. I may not be 'using it' right now, but it is still appreciated. Hopefully things will come together eventually. In the meantime, enjoy your new home.
Check out Lexchamber.com. It is Commerce Lexington's website and has a lot of good info. Lexington was rated the 48th best city in the world for livability. There is something for everyone. It is a very diverse city.
I worked at UK for a while and I didn't care for it. However, I have a lot of friends that work there that really like it. It depends on the position.
The areas close to UK to consider are Chevy Chase, Ashland Park and Kenwick. They are all very nice areas and are within walking distance of UK.
If you live within New Circle Rd you will not have to contend with traffic that people coming in from the suburbs have to deal with. It is like a community within a community.
