I will be moving to Mayfield in a couple months, and would like to locate some photos on the Internet, to see what the town itself looks like. Anyone know where I might find any photos?

I saw the few on the Mayfield city site, but would like to see more, and maybe some of the out lying country......

Thanks for your help.

Freelander, I spent quite a while last night looking at all the pictures on that flickr site. Some were from my nephew and his mother. I have a flickr site but haven't put any pictures on there lately. Got my camera back out and I'm getting pics from Cadiz and Trigg County!

Beeutemark, that Chamber of Commerce building was for years the Mayfield/Graves County Public Library. The new one was built across town when there wasn't enough room in the old library for all the books. That used to be a family home!
I don't know if you watch many movies but "In Country" was based on a book written by Bobbie Ann Mason, a Mayfield native, and starred Bruce Willis. Bruce and Demi Moore were still married when he was in the movie here. Demi came to visit while pregnant and their oldest daughter, Rumer Glen, was born in Paducah.

Hi Dave and Kygman:

Thanks for the lovely photos, I just wondered what the downtown looks like, and am trying to get a feel for my new home. I have not visited there yet! I will rent the "In Country" movie, and check it out. I just saw beautiful Rumer on the Golden Globes handing out statues, she was a looker! Should have known she was a Ky. Belle! I did see "Elizabethtown", and it was great. Any other photos would be much appreciated. I will be living in the city proper area....have just bought my home, the offer was just accepted last week. I am so excited to be moving where everyone I have dealt with so far has been extremely nice to a stranger. You all have bent over backwards to make me feel welcome. Thanks so much. I am truly blessed to be able to come to your neck of the woods!

We're faking it ... when you get here we'll be real snobby.

I'll try to get some photos posted pretty soon ... I'll have to go take them.

What street is your house on? Not needing the address or anything just the general area. My parents live near Mayfield High School.
They are having a rough time around Mayfield and Graves County. 2 weeks ago 4 boys went duck hunting in Kentucky Lake. The wind picked up before they could get to shore and the boat capsized. 1 was pulled out alive, one body was found, but 2 are still missing. This tragedy has really pulled the community together.
