Why move to KY? There's lots of reasons to move here. Things like beautiful scenery, beautiful horse farms that you won't find anywhere else in America, the 4 seasons, winters are mild, the people are more polite and friendly than most areas of the country, lots of things are cheaper here.....

Six months of the Ohio Valley can be mesmerizing. There are tremendous nursing opportunities along both ends of I-71 between Louisville and Cincinnati.

Thank you everyone sounds like it gets hot there, sometimes I just look at a map and say why kentucky you know?? Its an odd choice but something drawing me there. I just dont want to get caught up in a town where everyone knows your name, and gossip and things is the trend. Being from metro Chicago I grew up not knowing everyone it was good, and bad a middle mix of that be good. I'm looking at etown maybe they treat my family ok there?

I think you have heard wrong. In 1970, I enrolled at the University of Kentucky, the largest college in Kentucky, many of my HS classmates chose smaller schools using the same logic as you are in small town concerns. I didn't have any more or any less friends than my fellow classmates.

Large cities have just as much gossip, etc as small towns. The difference is the small towns join together more openly to help and be-there for one another. If you want to live in Westport, KY, the smallest little burg in Oldham County, you can do so in peace and quiet, with the level of community involvement that you personally wish.

E-town is good, but is hurting a bit worse than most Kentucky places due to their high automotive involvement. There is a big "hybrid car" battery plant coming soon, but..
