I don't consider Louisville, Lexington, or Metro Northern KY to be true "college towns" so they aren't on the poll, although you can make the case for them below.

That leaves the following:
* Bowling Green (WKU)
* Frankfort (KSU)
* Morehead
* Murray
* Richmond (EKU)

MODERATOR: I tried unsuccessfully to add a poll option. Could you please put the 5 above choices on a poll? If not delete this thread and I will try to repost it with a poll

I'm partial to Murray.

I dont know that I'd consider Frankfort a college town. Yes, KSU is there, but I think the big state capital/government presence would dilute the college kid influence somewhat.

I agree, but I didn't want to leave it off since Frankfort is the same size as other ones mentioned. I probably offended some people by leaving off Lexington!

OK, I have been to every campus and toured 3 while in high school (EKU, Murray, WKU). My rankings would go...

1. Richmond - almost perfect size, perfect distance from larger city. I really like its downtown and shopping near campus. EKU's has a great campus, too. Hiking in the mountains is just 10 miles away is an added plus.

2. Murray - if it wasn't so isolated it would be my top pick. Very clean and well kept up, just enough shopping and restaurants to not be too boring.

3. Bowling Green - it's downtown doesn't have much quaintness IMO and some parts of town are run down looking. I do love College Street's vista of the Cherry statue/ building, WKU has a really nice campus too. BG does have good shopping.

4. Morehead - very run down looking town IMO

5. Frankfort - KSU has a nice little campus but the town is in no way built around the university. No shopping or fast food near campus either.

What about Campbellsville?? That's a great town. I also love Danville. Centre College and Campbellsville University are small but there's still a nice college town feel in both towns.

He was talking about public colleges, but I agree about Danville and Centre.

Probably the best private college college town is Berea, though.
