From the pictures of KY lake it is huge. I don't know where to start.
If anyone has knowledge of the lake area and some good ole information that would help in the start of my search. I want to live where the sailing can be seen and where it would be easy to participate and meet others.
If there are some local contacts that someone could suggest that would be really helpful.
Thank you

If you want to sail you need to be in the northern part (Grand Rivers, Moores) of the lake or the southern part (paris Landing, TN) There are Marinas there equipped to handle sailboats.
Green Turtle Bay Marina is popular for sail boat. Rest of the lake is house boaters, pontooners, and bass boats that do 200 mph.

Yes it is a big lake ... You'll find me down near Johnathan Creek ... in a cove fishing and kicking back ... headed out here in a few minutes, soon as friend arrive.

Default where to start

If you want to sail start in Grand Rivers, KY just off I-24. Large sailing Marina there with boats from all over. I believe there are real estate offices in town. The lake at Grand Rivers is wide as it is nearest to the dam.

South of Grand Rivers about 30 miles is Paris Landing, TN on Highway 79. I live near there. It has a small sailboat community and lake not as wide at that point, but a lot of wind near the bridge over the lake. In between the 2 points is called KY Lake also but is narrower and is basically the Tennessee River which is good fishing and general boating.

I'm a general boater but I've done some sailing and if I were to start again, I would start at Grand Rivers. Good luck!

Rick
