Hello! Another question for all you folks. Are roaches a big problem here in the tri cities area? Went to clean out our "guest house" today and found two large what I am pretty sure are roaches. Is this common for the area? Not sure if I should panic and call an exterminator or just run to the grocery and buy some RAID! We had an inspection for termites before purchase and there were no signs of those little buggers and the inspector for the house was pretty thorough and never said anything about seeing any roaches. I have never seen any in the house so far.
Thanks!

Maybe they hitched a ride on something that was brought in. Have your had any furniture, bag of stuff moved in? If so maybe they came from another area. Or any thing shipped, boxed or bagged that was brought into the house? It wouldn't hurt to have an exterminater for a while to make sure. Those nasty things breed like **** roaches or is it rabbits, really fast.

I don't know if it's a problem for the area in general but we had a huge problem with them while I was in high school a few years ago. It took over a year to find something to get rid of them. I think we ended up using an off-brand roach/flea killer (RAID did nothing) that was capable of penetrating carpet fibers (makes a huge difference, trust me). We bought probably twenty large canisters and put Nagasaki to shame.

We had to throw away a ton of stuff but in retrospect it was a great move.

We certainly have 'em but I'm pretty sure cockroaches are common in almost every state. Seeing a couple is not cause for alarm, IMO.

Some bait traps and boric acid should take care of your unwelcome guests.
