Default Tn_dreamin', I think you will enjoy these pictures!

Tn_dreamin', I hope that this helps. Downtown Maryville is a lovely town and it is getting nicer all of the time.

If you go to the search option at the top of this page, you will pull up several series of downtown Knoxville, Alcoa, Maryville, and many other cities' photos. We have a few excellent and eager photographers in our ranks here and they do a wonderful job of capturing the flavor of area towns and cities. There are some wonderful photos of Fountain City and historic homes in Knoxville.

The site below gives a nice tour of Maryville, but does not include subdivisions. The realtors' sites are probably the best source of those types of pictures. With a large number of neighborhoods represented in these cities it is difficult to include sub photos on the forum. If you indicate one in particular, I would bet that somebody here has a photo to post!

City of Maryville Tennessee Photo Tour

I hope you enjoy the tour! TedTAce, one of our regular posters is an excellent photographer and provided this very good tour for the forum. Thank you Ted!!

I found this site that has lots of good pics of maryville, you have to go through quite a few to get to the downtown ones.. but it'll give those who want to move there an idea of what the downtown looks like.

Default Here's some Maryville pics

My sis sent me these so I could get an idea of what the town looks like and I thought others who are moving there would like to see them.

Thumbs up Loved the pictures, tn_dreamin'.

Thanks for the pictures, tn_dreamin'. They sure make me feel homesick!

As soon as DH recovers from his surgery we'll be back up to do some more scouting around. I think they are getting to know our first names at Up the Creek Restaurant! Yummy!

Smile Thanks for the pics!

Thanks for sharing your sister's pics and sharing yet another photographic trip through M'ville and surrounding area. Easy to imagine the natural beauty with the leaves on those trees. We should be permanent residents at this time next year and are counting down the days. Good luck with your plans.

Thanks for posting the pictures!! Like Gem I feel a bit homesick for my place in Maryville. We are trying hard to sell our 'up north' home now so we can come back full time. It was nice to see familiar places.

Gem tell me more about Up the Creek. We haven't had much chance for looking for good places to eat yet. We did like the Little Italian Restaurant (we ate at the Alcoa one and know the other one is close to the library). We loved the library when we finally found it.

During our longest time in Maryville had so little time and used it all to get appliances and beds and household "stuff" and then cooked at home because we were too pooped to go out again. At least I can find Kroger's, Target, HD , Lowe's and Sears in my sleep now! We also had the pleasure of eating at the home of our new neighbors so had another excuse to not go a hunting for a place to eat.

The one thing we took the time for is the Foothills Parkway and of course our DS had to check out the dragon in advance of bringing his motorcycle the next time he visits! I did not enjoy that too much from the back seat of his car.

Em

Hmm, Most of Downtown. Don't forget Foothills mall, the Denso plant, Friendsville, and other areas. How about that Ice storm Last week? It sounded like a mess over there....

The ice storm was just that most of the secondary roads were iced over for half a day.

It rained a bit, and the ground/road was so cold that it iced over when it landed.

It was a mess, but only lasted for a bit -- just long enough to really mess up rush hour/school bus traffic for the morning.
