Great, they need one there. It's a dangerous for pedestrians and cars. I'm by there every day and always feel sorry for people trying to cross.

Default Beautiful downtown is coming 'round!

In fact, if I'm still here when it's finished, I'll probably look into it myself.
I love the downtown area from what little I have seen. This all sounds so exciting and inviting. It should be a great attraction for the UT students, JMT!

Downtown Knoxville really is interesting. It's got a few really tall buildings and a bunch of smaller buildings. It doesn't have much traffic. It's got some GREAT restaurants and one of the most beautiful theaters in the state, the Tennessee Theater, as well as the historic, smaller Bijou Theater. It's now got movie theaters, more retail, and it's just a few blocks from the U.T. campus. And unlike downtowns of bigger cities like Nashville or Louisville, you don't take your life into your hands when you walk around downtown Knoxville. Let me tell you, if I could, I'd live in downtown, too!

Ohh, are they planning to put a tower on the property once occupied by the Knoxville News-Sentinel/Knoxville Journal?

Just wondering if Knoxville had the steep street (I forgot the name of the street) torn down that was located between KNS and First Tennessee Bank (I think) garage buildings?

Yep, the tower is on the old News-Sentinel site.

Not sure about the street.

According to this article, the project is still a go, although the statement by Talbott didn't sound real persuasive.
