Anyone ever been? Can you tell me a little about the atmosphere, etc?

I have the opportunity to get a $25 gift card for $2...I would think unless the place is downright AWFUL, that's a deal, but can we take our boys there?

Thanks!

Hope you get an answer because I get the same Certificates and I was thinking about getting one too, I did use one at Midland in Maryville and it was good.

MacLeods is a longtime downtown restaurant. It used to be one of the only places to eat downtown and is an old-school beer and hamburger joint Stick with burgers, chicken fingers and fries and you'll be fine. So it's a good place to take kids.
I think they have locations outside of downtown now, but ithe one downtown would be a good place to take the kids in the afternoon and then explore downtown. Or take them to the farmers market in market square on Saturday morning and then stop in for lunch. It's right by square.

Forgive me as I am not from Knoxville, but I thought that the Macleod's downtown closed? However, the place I was thinking of was more of a bar than a family place on the far end of Market Street headed towards UT.

That was the one. They're still there but I think they closed another one that they had opened, maybe in Maryville?
It's OK for kids for lunch as I suggested. It's more bar after dark. Used to be the main gathering place for Metropulse staffers and the first pioneers of downtown redevelopment.

No longer in market square. They moved to Cumberland Ave. Good fish and chips. Lots of Karaoke.

I worked there for a few years. And they have great food!!! It is a resteraunt turned bar at night. Totally okay for families during the day. And it is located on the strip across from Taco Bell now.

Ummm....I don't live in Knoxville so not sure at all about this restaurant but I would like to address the other part of your post. $25 gift certificate for $2??? How does that work and is it only a Knoxville thing? What is the catch? Inquiring minds would like to know.

You go to Restaurant.com, they sell gift certificates to different restaurants, there arent a lot in Knoxville but its a good deal, usually they are $25 ones for $10 but once you start buying they send specials all the time, the special the other day for one day only was $25 ones for $2. I buy them for Midland Restaurant in Maryville and also for Gondolier in Gatlinburg. Got to the site and check it out, you can even give them as presents to people, I give them to my office staff here where I live sometimes as a gift. Hope this helps you
