Hello everyone,

Does anyone know of any radio stations in the area that will be playing all Christmas music? I used to love it when 88.3 FM used to start early on November 1st. Apparently they have changed their format and will no longer be playing their traditional 24/7 holiday lineup starting November 1st. Not at all anymore, for that matter. I know that B-97.5 does 24/7 at some point, but I really didn't care for their line-up. I really liked the traditional music that 88.3 played. Does anyone know if there is another station in the area taking over where 88.3 left off?

On a side note, I know there are those that will lambast me for even asking this before Halloween. LOL I guess to each his own, but I just love the holiday season so much and it goes by so fast that I don't mind it starting early.

Blessings,
Lisa

Wow. I can't believe they stopped this tradition! I wonder if they lost their sponsor.

Where did you hear this?

XM Radio does (which I have) and probably Sirius. There may also be some via the Internet.

They changed their format and are now a Christian station instead of easy listening, but you'd think a Christian station would carry on this tradition. Here's a link to the story:

WBIR.com | Knoxville, TN | Adult contemporary Christian station to launch in Knoxville (http://www.wbir.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=58621 - broken link)

Apparently, there's a bunch of controversy surrounding XM at the moment, also. There has been talk of limited or no XM holiday stations this year. I don't subscribe to XM, but always got it through DirecTV. I guess there are a lot of Scrooge's out there this year in the radio industry.

is there a yahoo radio station doing christmas music this year?

XM's issue probably has to do with the buyout...

I find every year starting after thanksgiving that most local FM radio stations play enough Christmas songs through out the day that you can pick about 4 stations on your car radio and find that at least one of them is playing Christmas songs. So if a non Christmas song comes on, just click to another.
I'm with you, I love Christmas music. I keep two Christmas Cd's in my car and pop them in around July for a week or so, my boys think I am crazy LOL! (but I catch them singing along too )

88.3 is moving Christmas Music to LOVE 89 per their station manager. Should start in a couple of weeks.

Could you provide a link to this information? I've tried emailing 88.3 twice about it and never even received the courtesy of a reply.
