I normally post on just NM or the ABQ forum but wanted to give a shout out to Las Cruces and the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum. We did a short visit last week to LC and really loved the city. We weren't able to do see & do as much as we wanted but were able to visit the NMFRHM and the Farmer's Market & old Mesilla Plaza. You have a great city (what we saw of it) and I really can't say enough about the museum. If you haven't been, I highly recommend it. Perhaps I liked it so well due to my ranching heritage but I found it very well laid out and very informative. Anyway, a great visit all in all and can't wait for the next one. ~WSIS

The FRHM is a somewhat undiscovered jewel on Dripping Springs Road. It's a first class facility with very engaging exhibits both indoors and out, and they also do special events, like the recent Cowboy days weekend, that are fun and interesting for people of every age and interest.
I was just there to see the just-opened firearms exhibit which features arms from 1600 to 1900. A collector's estate recently donated his large collection to the museum and this forms the basis of the very well done show.
WORTH A VISIT

I agree - Farm & Ranch rarely gets the attention it deserves. The exhibits are always first rate and the setting is lovely. Definitely worth a trip.
