If so, there is a house for rent at 4114 Bella Sierra Court, and I was wondering if the neighborhood is pretty nice (looks it on the virtual tour) and quiet, safe, etc. I'm sure it's fine, just would be nice to hear from someone who lives in the area.
Also, do you know if the school would be Desert Hills?

The neighborhood is VERY nice, quiet and safe, and brand new. There are still many vacant parcels, with home construction stalled due to the recession. It is right off the area of Sonoma Ranch Blvd that is about to be completed in the next month or so. In my estimation, the best neighborhood in town, unless you are a tree lover, like myself, then I would defer to the Mesilla Park area around Conway Ave. The district IS Desert Hills, which has the highest DIBELS testing scores for all elementary schools. I don't live there, but right next to it. If I had to do it over again, however, it is where we would have moved. You are making a fine choice by moving into this area IMO.
We've seen the virtual tour, the hose is large enough, has a separate casita for my parents for when they visit, and I checked the crime map for that area. The rent is on the high end, but it seems like a higher-end house, and it's about $500 cheaper than we're paying now!
I'm also seeking information on the Sonoma Ranch area. We are looking at a house on La Purisima and have concerns about flooding? Yea, I know you only get 3" of rain a year. The house sits in a low area and faces a large sandy hill. Your comments appreciated.
La Purisima, I think that's the one that parallels the arroyo Sonoma Ranch Blvd crosses over. I've never seen a summer storm that has done any damage to that area. I will say, however, that I've only been here 4 years, and the possibility exists that if conditions became extreme enough, I could see a major flood taking that area. If it were to get to that point, forget about flooding, structural damage would be a greater concern. I am not sure how well developed the stormwater system is further on up the path of that arroyo. I know that around where I work, the stormwater system is very bad.
Back on point. If I were to buy on La Purisima, I'd probably buy on the side of the street not facing the arroyo. Much like the OP's inquiry about Bella Sierra, this street is contained within a beautiful neighborhood. I'd move there if I could.
This looks fabulous on the visual tour. How much does something like this one cost? I'm going to have to rent until I sell my home in IN but it doesn't hurt to look!
