Well I ended up staying at the imperial. If you get a players card then it becomes REAL cheap! Well to me anyway. I've got no context for the quality of rooms but I would say there ok. Now I'm off to sahara to see it before it closes! Sad news.

Welcome to town! Great decision to stay in the middle of The Strip. I think you could spend a week at the IP without venturing more than about a mile & you'd be in tourist/gamer heaven.

Thanks vegas55.

Gotta say those card snappers are starting to get on my nerves. Other then that its been smooth sailing. I was going to ask....how does 17.00 from the airport to Bills sound? I was told it was cheaper if I didn't take the tunnel?

Vegas55 do you know any cheap places for breakfast and dinner? I went to Dessy Bs steakhouse(s eastern and s tropicana)and paid $40 all up for juice, steak and lobster tail? went to a place called Firefly near the wells Fargo tower and paid the same for 3 tapas plates? I thought you could do cheaper then that in Vegas. Especially off the strip.

By the way i walked to both joints!! my feet are killing me

Go to Ellis Island (walkable) & ask for the dinner special-$7.99 for everything including a beer-I think it's steak. I eat on The Strip a lot: Grand Lux Cafe at The Venetian is a favorite of everyone (huge portions, any meal, delicious for about $13-$20), then I like California Pizza Kitchen at The Mirage, & lots of Mexican & burger places in the casinos. And have you heard of world famous Hash House a Go Go right there at the IP where you're staying? Also at The Venetian is a nice food court on 1st floor in the casino area.

Sold! Grand lux @ the Venetian here I come ha! Thanks Vegas55. Awesome info. Hash house a Go go. Yes went the other nite. I though there sandwiches were massive! Didn't actually know they were famous but I did see a sign saying something of the kind...problem is is that they all have signs saying there great so I figured it must be another average place talking about themselves...nice to know

Hey vegas55 you know the best deal for helicopter rides over the grand canyon? Not sure who to go to since there are so many people pimping the service? Trying to find a place to fire a gun also never done both

You ARE aware that helicopters can NOT fly.....

They are just so ugly that the ground repels them

Someone else will be happy to give you the gun advice, I'm sure. A friend of mine went to one to fire some kind of machine gun-you know guys know all the names, like MC22 or sumptin. Anyway, after about $100 & 15 seconds it was all over. Have fun with that, but don't blink or you'll miss half of it!

Forgot to mention Mon Ami Gabi at Paris for breakfast or lunch. It's a must! Sit out on the patio or inside near the patio & get one of the best views in Vegas. Delicious & very reasonable.

And $17 cab fare was average. Any driver who suggests the tunnel is unscrupulous-the tunnel travels AWAY from The Strip!
