Lou Ruvo Center for the Brain opened up in Vegas ealier this year, apparently a MUSEUM OF THE MIND as well.

I imagine the museum isn't open yet? How are the buildings to see in person...they look real interesting through photography...

I drive by it every day both to and from work.....it's wild.....it appears to be the architects statement on the heat in Las Vegas lol.....it looks like a cluster of hi-rises that have melted.....I like it....The clinic portion has all the charm of a saltine cracker box lol...but the front part shields it from view.

I was by there a week or two ago and it was still under construction. Are y'all sure it's open? It looks like a mad scientists brain.

The clinic [in the building behind the melted city] seems to be open and the "Melted City" is still being clad in stainless or whatever.......vellllly intelesting....

at least, the parking lot in back seems to hold a lot of automobiles rather then hardhats trucks and the interior lights are on....

my husband has a brain disease, this is his home away from home. The building is incredible. They don't let you just walk on in. If you do want a tour there is someone you can talk to.

This is all about art and architecture...which is really interpreted by the observer. To me, it's contrasting the order and structure of the healthy brain (on the north side) and the disorder and chaos of the diseased brain (on the south side).

You would probably understand that better than anyone.

BTW: The brain is not the mind, it's a body part ─ the switchboard between the mind and the body ─ and it's a shock absorber for the body. But brains don't think or create ...YOU do. Then the brain carries out YOUR commands ...even the automatic ones were originally set up by YOU. Remember, there are 3 parts to man ─ body, mind, and spirit. Guess which one YOU are.
