there's no stopping these crooks. prices are a one way street UP.. like gas prices. oil just dropped $20/bbl (17%)..do you really think we'll see a significant drop in gas prices?

Just the same as some states (and even the feds) are considering instituting a mileage tax because they are seeing a decrease in gas tax revenue as more people buy fuel efficient vehicles.

I am SERIOUSLY reconsidering those solar panels.

What a joke! I have never heard of a worse reason to raise rates before. How about they can shove all their energy awareness and efficiency programs and lower the billing rates instead?

I'm with macgeek here about considering those solar panels again... Then I just need an electric car so I can stop helping the oil companies break profit records each quarter.

How do they track how many miles you drive? Sounds like another step to fulfilling big brother to the extreme. Just wait until Americans start illegally crossing over into Mexico to get away from all this ridiculousness.

Complaining about it is all good. I'm ready to protest. Honest. They need to pay us back for all the 'conserve energy' programs we paid for.

What's the real right and proper way to complain about their rates or protest a rate hike?

I've read about the PUC here and that basically they are just a rubber stamp for whatever the utilities want to do. Is that true? How do we get PUC members? Are they elected? Appointed? By whom? Who are they? Can they be recalled? Or how are they replaced?

And how do we entice them to do their job and protect the public? In the summer here, electricity is not optional. NVEnergy just seems to cruise through one rate increase after another.

Is there a group already in place that's viable(not just a bunch of whack jobs) to fight them?

I don't know about you guys but I think electric is already too high. Personally, I would love to turn on the AC and be cool and comfy. But I can't because it costs too much. I feel sorry for all the shift workers and people with a lot less money than me. How do you get a decent day's sleep with the AC set on 90?

They are raising their rates so they can continue to purchase expensive advertising time on TV and increase profits for their shareholders.

It's too bad I cant power my home with pure BS as NV energy seems to have a never ending supply.

They will put a RFID tracking device in your car if this does get approved.
