What do you think about the new waterpark? Did they select a good area or will that area become a new problem area?

I thought about this yesterday when I saw that my hometown (pop. 16,000) was going to have one before we do. Clarksburg Exponent Telegram Online (http://www.cpubco.com/articles/2011/08/07/news/01.txt - broken link)

Glad to see we're finally getting a replacement for Wet n' Wild.

Ahhhhhh, floating along on the lazy river with the bikinis on parade. Doesn't matter how hot it is then.

Ft. Apache & Warm Springs .

Could they build it any farther away from town. Maybe 95 & Snow Mountain. Who is going to travel all the way to the far SW corner of the valley to use this park (except the local residents and a few lost tourists). Even the RTC/CAT buses dont run to this area. Don't see this being very successful.

I agree that being built there makes it more of a locals only attraction, which I prefer.

It is still only 15 minutes from the strip and even if you live in Aliante it is only a 35 minute drive.

Check out the crammed local parks with small water features and I think you will see your customer base for this park.

Hopefully this takes some demand away from the Hollywood Aquatic Park, so the adults can swim in peace.

Me too.. I only look nowadays, and that when the Admiral is not close, but still I would go for it.

Got a house I want to sell like mad. It has a lazy river...I want to know someone who has a lazy river I can borrow.

I still would like to see one on the north strip. Perhaps with a more adult theme. It is an obvious way to constructively fill up 20 acres or so that would otherwise sit there vacant for the next ten years.

That's the whole point. I'm pretty sure this park is intended for locals.

The strip doesn't really want to be "family friendly" anymore. Those days are largely over.
