Like anything else, if it was built correctly, went to the right places, and was priced right then people would use it. You would need the decent sized big commuter parking lots. And without really studying the map based on what you proposed it would go Boulder City, henderson, LAS, mid strip (central station), downtown, cheyenne, craig, Nellis AFB.

If the strip were central station you would have a line that went NW/SE starting at 215/95, west craig (?), summerlin pkwy/95, mid strip and boulder hwy strip.

And now that I reread your original post, what I proposed is nothing like what you wanted.

Hell yeah I would use it. I would probably use any reliable, safe, fairly priced alternative to driving my own vehicle.

Well there is already rail lines between N. LV and BC. What your suggesting is exactly what the Valley needs but would require a substantial amount of capital.

This city is way too small in both population and actual size for such an investment. Also, the city is so densely built, it would be even more expensive than doing this in most other cities.

Yep we need to spend 15 million dollars so 12 people in BC can commute to Las Vegas.sounds like a plan.

I dont think the city needs one per se, but it's a cool thought. And one thing we dont think about is most of the time rail creates growth. So if there was a rail system a place like boulder would grow exponentially.

But lets spend millions on yet another casino with more hotel rooms and the same ole games of chance we have all over the valley.

I didnt care who was spending the money in that particular example. We are a bit tunnel visioned when it comes to spending money, but Steve Wynn would probably make just as much or more than a casino if he put down some front money for light rail. And sometimes communities dont have a clue whats best for them. If the city did grow up around them they could do what we tell everyone else to do if they dont like it. Move.
