Sounds like my poker schedule, lol.

But seriously, opening night is this Saturday with an unbelievable lineup: Carole King, Jennifer Hudson, Emmylou Harris, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Joshua Bell and others. (That's all I can remember offhand.) The emcee for the evening is Neil Patrick Harris.

I've already bought tickets to two performances. I'll probably book one or two of the Broadway plays as well

Wish they would hurry up and develop the dirt lots around it. Also the train tracks running between 'symphony park' and fremont is a huge detriment to the walk-ability and feel of the area. Heck, Reno built the train tunnel 10 years ago and it made a big difference. Yes, I know people are going to bash downtown Reno and the depressed economy but it did have a very positive impact on downtown Reno. Las Vegas needs to get with the times. This should have been started a long time ago. Oscar the grouch and galoongachia sleeping on the job?

This is the type of thing that attracts us to a city and will make a big difference for us when considering a move there. This summer we're going to find out if we can handle the heat and how well we like it there for longer than a few days at a time.

We are a bit spoiled for a small city. Just a few of the things we have available here

On Stage | Des Moines Art Center
Home : The Official Site of the Civic Center of Greater Des Moines
Des Moines Iowa Historic Theater Peforming Arts Rental Live Music Hoyt Sherman Place
Iowa Events Center - Home

There's never a slow time for great entertainment around here.

Thanks for the directive.....I will look into becoming a Friend, although buying lots of concert and program tickets was my "friendly" plan.
