Gambling is no more addictive than other so called hobbies. I know Hunters and Fisherman who spend much more $$ and time on their passion. They live and breathe it. So why does gambling get tossed into the vice bucket. Because it is Illegal in most of the nation. I'll bet (no pun intended) that there are more divorces and cheating done by spouses because of hunting and fishing than gambling. If you figure out the cost of the game and fish taken to eat by these sportsmen and women they could buy months of groceries much cheaper. SO!!! the whole slant on this thread is respect each others passion in life and stop cranking on certain ones. Enjoy your passion.

I seriously doubt that.

I think as soon as corporate America got into the gambling business, the perks were doomed. And I suspect that, as time goes on, we will see fewer and fewer "freebies".
Stations had gotten really stingy with theirs. Things I used to get just for showing up, now I have to earn 100 points that day in order to get. Most of the time I don't bother.

What money? If I had a lot of money, then I would go and play some. For what it's worth, I have a buck to my name! And they aren't getting it!

Have you seen the soap in the Station hotels? It's literally the size of my thumb.

I am seeing all the casino's getting stingy with perks, my AP friend, is a 7 star, and tells me, that even high level gambling perks are turning to crap.

Will freebies become a thing of the past?
Those things come and go with the economy. Don't worry about them being a thing of the past, they're just not in the present.

Ditto skiers & snowboarders. A ski lift ticket in Park City cost $4.50 in 1968; that is about $29 adjusted for inflation. Yet today that ticket is $97 (or, if you go to Vail, $116). A bowl of chili for lunch, or a salad & diet coke will set you back about $20 at a ski lodge. A family of four on a ski vacation will spend about $10,000 for a week.
