These are so freakin cool.. I remember going to Las vegas in 1982 from Colorado and the Dunes was fenced in by chain link..Wasn't it around that time they did away with it???

I was also able to take a panoramic pic of Ceasars from the Flamingo and have no cars or people in it.. Nowadays you couldn't get a single pic.....

You're off by eleven years. The Dunes was imploded in 1993 to make way for the Bellagio.

On page 7, the pic of the Castaways says Tom Jones Show with the Mod Dancers. That wasn't the singer Tom Jones as the text implies. That was a bawdy comedy show about an old English village with a lot of winches in various stages of dress. It was very loosly based on the book, "Tom Jones," which is where I've always assumed that Sir Thomas Woodward, the singer, took his stage name from.

So did it sit that long before anything was done with it??? Because there was no business at the Dunes in 82... And I remember cause I was PO'd that I couldn't get any matchbooks from there...
