I'm sorry, but there were a lot of bad decisions made in those 23 years. There MUST have been cash out-refis or HELOCS and bad advice given by "out of state, retired" attorneys to get to this point. You can't expect to skip out on payments and not suffer consequences... that's common sense.

My only thought would be why not use some of that money that they didn't pay the mortgage with an go see a lawyer?

There is a lot more to this story then we have been told.

I want to know what the current loan(s) on the home total.

If the OP can tell the original price and then the current value, the picture will be a lot clearer.

a higher court Judge signed a 'stay' today and revoked the eviction and our home is now in litigation until further notice. Thanks for the information everyone.

So, tell us what is going on.

Did you get a lawyer or just walk into court? Are you in a home that technically you don't own?

Are you paying a mortgage to anyone or are you living there payment free now?

i don't get it.. if the mortgage is 1050, how can you not pay it.... What are you going to rent for 1050?
