I believe you are essentially correct altho in key positions I believe that Nevada Gaming Control Board will decline to issue a license.....[not to be confused with a Sheriff's card or Work card as some call it] other then that the decision to hire is vested in the Company....if they want to take the chance.....WE have a Felony No Hire rule.....if convicted of a felony we don't even get them for interview.

as for citing my source.....simply what I know of the industry.....

A license is very, very different than a sheriffs' card, and usually only key employees are licensed. Many I worked with obtained licenses with the hopes of climbing the ladder, but most reverted back to a job that didn't require it. If I'm not mistaken, a key employee is defined as one who has access to EVERY portion of EVERY department; ie: soft count, hard count, cage, etc. Regarding felons; are you sure? I don't know where you work, but not all rules apply to all new hires. This may be a rule of thumb for the run-of-the-mill applicant, but not all fit that category. I can assure you, that not all hires are run through HR.

Times have changed, as in the "day" I could get fired at 9pm from the "Shoe", and get hired at 10pm, by the acting pit boss at the 4 Queens, no HR etc. Now, the corporate structure dictates, but don't forget the top of the structure still can deviate from policy.

There doesn't seem to be a thing known as corporate loyalty. While many past figures were criminals of varying degree, they never seemed to have exerted their style on people that didn't know what they were getting in to.

Not really an answer to my question. Were you denied work due to the employers' standards, or due to a failure to obtain a sheriff's card, or other permit?

You were convicted of armed robbery and your surprised that companies don't want to hire you?

REALLY??

There are some felonies that one might be willing to overlook, like the ones that are NON violent. But I can't say I blame anyone for not being willing to overlook a felony involving a firearm.

If you could bankroll a campaign, you could no doubt become an elected official in LV and become a pillar of the community.
