Was thinking of going to Vegas from March 28 - April 1st. during the Passover Easter Holiday weekend.

Wanted to find out is it busy, quiet, can i get better deals any advise where to stay and do be great.

btw I am going with a male friend not a bf just a platonic friend we are both very young minded 40-somethings form Manhattan.

what would be the best hotel to stay smack in the middle of the strip ?

I have been there at that time and it's exactly the same as any other time, no difference at all. The good thing about that time of year is that it's only in the mid-80s. I'm going this year for a week around the middle of April so it may be warmer. I'm going to a conference that will be at the Monte Carlo, but I like the Mirage for being closer to the middle. My favorite is Bellagio, but it's farther out. If you haven't seen it, don't miss the Fremont Street Experience.

It should be crowded as it is:

1) March Madness
2) Easter (holiday)
3) Spring break - for some families.

You will be able to find a room BUT more than likely, it will NOT be very inexpensive.

Also, the prices are not actually the prices. That is, my room for mid-April is advertised at $60
but then they add a Resort tax of $20 so it's really $80.

Not all properties charge resort fees. These are some websites that list out the properties that charge a resort fee and those that do not:

Las Vegas | Resort Fees.com
Las Vegas Hotel Resort Fees

Hope that helps.

Not that it matters, but fwiw, you'll miss Passover. Although it is technically an 8-day holiday, it is celebrated with Sedars only on the first two nights, which fall on March 25th & 26th this year.

It's actually the Mirage that's a bit farther out. The Strip is roughly 4 miles long from Russell to Sahara and the Bellagio is almost smack dab in the middle at Flamingo. The resorts at the intersection of Flamingo & LV Blvd are considered to be center Strip, although I would still consider Mirage to be a center strip location.

Well I went on the Kayak and the rooms are dirt cheap for the weekend that is not norm. I am debating on either hard rock for $85 per a nite or Ceasears for $127 per a nite.

March Madness - none of the games are being played in Vegas on those days that I am aware.

March Madness is NOT in Las Vegas. However, the March Madness weekends are some of the heaviest betting weekends on the calendar. It draws a lot of people, especially from the SoCal markets.

Both the Hard Rock and the Caesar's deals are pretty good rates IMO. Remember that the Hard Rock is well off the Strip while Caesar's is right in the middle of the Strip. Both are excellent choices that you will enjoy.

Personally, I really like the casino at the Hard Rock with all of the rock memorabilia and some of the GREAT food deals. Lucky's (the coffee shop) has a $7.77 steak special that is unadvertised.

Caesar's has a great sports books and some great restaurant options. And they have no resort fee.

Have fun.
