...did you notice NV Energy pushing up the temp? They did it several times yesterday to mine. More than 4 degrees, too. I can tell as soon as it hits 80 degrees and would go check. It's not that big of a deal since I can override it, but I was just curious.

You can permanently override it online or through their phone app.

I over rode mine snip snip with wire cutters and installed a regular thermostat. I now have total control not NV Energy.

I have noticed NV Energy doing this also with my thermostats. I adjusted the temps online but they ignore the schedule. Now I manually adjust the thermostats and it works. I guess this is the price for cheap rates, off peak!

I am not on Time of Use yet and as far as I know, we don't get any kind of discount for using the mPowered thermostat.

I've got a great swamp cooler and have not had to turn the air on until this past Friday. I could probably still get by if I could figure out a way to be comfortable in the mid 80's like Scoop, but I pissy (hard to believe, huh) when I get too warm.

I just had to keep going back and adjusting it. We never use it and I am too lazy to go figure out how to permanently override it. Back when I got it, they told me that when they do make an adjustment, it's only four degrees, but they were doing it at least eight degrees yesterday.

Just received two phone calls from NV Energy, they are raising the the rates tomorrow from 1500-1900. It will be raised from peak use rate to critical peak use rate. I sure am dreading Jul-Aug critical summer rates of $.75 per kwh.

Just curious, but was it during one of their energy-saving events? I use the app on my phone in order to adjust my thermostat, and I have noticed that there are energy-saving events in the late afternoon quite often.

Are you serious? They can't just arbitrarily raise rates. It has to go the utility commission first. I know on Time of Use you pay more between 1:00 and 7:00, but it is only $0.33/kwh. Right now, I pay a flat $0.11/kwh since I have not been switched over yet.
