Anyone know which stores are closing?

The LV Sun reported how Tesco, the UK owner of the Fresh & Easy supermarket brand, has announced that 13 stores in the southwest, including six in Las Vegas, will be "mothballed" due to the impact of the residential and commercial property crash. The official press release did not specify which six stores here will close; the company says it hopes to re-open them when the housing and employment markets pick up.

Fresh and Quesey can't carry Trader Joe's Jockstrap. Look at all the chemical additives in their seafood.

So much for the "industry experts" who thought that Tesco would march into the US market and in a couple of years, be a major player.

Personally, I would shutter the entire chain and come back with stores very similar to those offered in the UK along with a solid online business.

I read the article. All the stores are not closing. Just a few in area's where they aren't turning a profit. Like near some of the newest subdivisions where there is a high rate of foreclosure.
The store isn't going away anytime soon, and if they did, I would probably leave too. That is one of the things keeping me here. They offer the best prices on what *we* buy and getting things 1/2 off to 70% off really helps the budget. I definitely do not want to go back to shopping at regular supermarkets with their higher prices. We need more competition, not less.

Yes, I like them too. There is one right be me that is very convenient. I wonder...but they just opened that Lowes with the Jack in the Box (which is always busy at ALL TIMES pretty much) Seems like the parking lot is busy at F&E, but who knows.

So, where would you go, Pink?
