shouldn't there be an apostrope?

apparently not: caesars palace hotel.
Quote:
originally named cabana palace, then desert palace, the hotel officially opened its doors as caesars palace in 1966. the name change and design were decided upon to create a world where everyone could be treated as an emperor, a palace for all caesars – hence no apostrophe in the name.

Nope. No apostrophe. The palace belongs to us all. I thought everyone knew that! j/k

Learned at the Neon Museum (or it was pointed out) that the style of lettering is actually Greek, not Roman. A Roman font would have been too boring I guess!

Caesar's means Caesar is.

Caesars indicates possession.

I hope you're kidding. Otherwise, return your diploma.

Same grammatical structure as its and it's. But sure, I'll return my diploma.

it's - definition of it's by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.

"It's" is a rule all its own!

The possesive of Caesars would be Caesar's, belonging to Caesar. (but this does not apply to Caesars Palace, as it "belongs to us all")

Just like Frank's means it belongs to Frank.

Frank's (Frank is) going to get Frank's (belonging to Frank) car.

Caesar, not Ceasar.

And no apostrophe is correct. Jay Sarno, who founded the joint in 1966, said he wanted every guest to feel like Caesar, so it's Caesars (plural), not Caesar's (possessive).
