Hello - Moving to LV in March. Does anyone know anything about Tiffany Place Apartments?
5800 W. Charleston Blvd.
Las Vegas, NV 89146

Is it a good area? Crime Rate ? Can you walk around and not have to worry?

Thanks in advance!

It's in an older part of town. I consider the area somewhat sketchy. It's certainly not "the hood", and it's convenient to CSN's Charleston Campus, but it's not one of the nicer areas in town.

A bit further west. Anything on Buffalo or west of there. (Most people say west of Rainbow, but I think it's better to stay on Buffalo or further west because some places on Rainbow are starting to slide)

If you decide to go to North Las Vegas, west of I-15, North of Craig, and North of Ann if possible.

I happen to like the Charleston Jones area...particularly to the south. Kind of mid 20th century. But that is not all bad. The eastern end of 89146 starts to be a little challenging but the west is not bad.

For safe and strip access go Charleston, Sahara, Desert Inn, Spring Mountain, Flamingo or Tropicana west of Rainbow. And if you are brave you can even come a little east of Rainbow.

The only good direction relatively close to the Strip is South. I know someone who lived in Tiffany Place and he said a neighbor got regular police visits and then two weeks later he saw CSI parked a few units down. Said it didn't feel so unsafe but police visits said otherwise. Could be bad luck, could be a pattern.

I agree with Willy. Look at the south Strip area near the South Point casino. Many apts over there and you are close to where you want to be, and close to the airport plus the freeway. Also The Lakes area(89117) is a good choice and you can walk around there and not worry. Much better than the Charleston location.

Thanks for the info. What do you consider safe? Im a 36 Year Old Man, not a retired older guy.
Do I need to be inside at night? Or can I walk to local bars, resturants, ect?
Thanks!

You are much more likely to be hit by a drunk driver crossing the street than to be victim of crime while walking in that area. I would avoid bicycling and walking in that area, simply because too many drivers are distracted, texting or impaired. For the most part, you will be surrounded by community college students and "working Joes." Charleston and Jones isn't upscale. But it isn't "bad" either.
