Always curious when people make comments such as this HOW that makes Las Vegas different from anywhere else...there are nasty backstabbing people in the workforce nationwide???

Sutaste,

You're obviously bilingual (English, German.) Do you speak any other languages? IIRC you're dual citizenship, so you have a direct right to work in the US. How old are you (in a range, if you don't want to give your exact age), under 21, 21-30? And, given that we're talking Vegas, how good looking are you? Do you have any direct hospitality skills? Have you bartended, waited tables, etc.?

The reason I'm asking these questions is that, you might be the right kind of candidate to take a direct run at some of the coveted public facing casino jobs, walking in off the street. As soon as you hit the ground, and get your NV driver's license, I'd be on all the major casino HR websites and employment offices, and getting your name and info in their systems. The fact that you're multilingual gives you a major advantage.

Not necessarily. If the casino in question has a bunch of German whales, then they will be very, very interested in a young, personable, intelligent (and good looking) casino host.

But the big money currently is in Chinese.

First of all, that's not what "right to work" means. What you are talking about is "employment at will". "Right to work" as in a "right to work state" simply means in such a state you have a right to join, or not join, a union in order to get a job.

Second, good spelling and grammar skills are helpful in getting any number of jobs.

I just saw a sign at an RV dealership on Boulder Highway looking for a German-speaking salesperson.. Might be worth checking out. I used to speak fluent German, but then moved to Puerto Rico and learned Spanish. Ended up mixing the 2, and now speak neither particularly well...

That's also why I asked about other languages. Maybe he picked up some Spanish, French, Italian, etc.

Also, for entry level, since LV gets a lot of international visitors, I think having fluency in any other major language besides English would give him an advantage. While the Chinese may make up the biggest pod of whales, at the front desk, they probably get any language you can imagine, and I bet chinese isn't even the most popular of them (I'm guessing Spanish would be.) Were talking entry level, so he wouldn't be swimming in the whale tank any time soon. But he could be checking in the undifferentiated horde at the front desk pretty quickly.
