4th paragraph down in the article linked in the original post.

Applications are only accepted online here , where available positions are updated daily. To date, SLS Las Vegas has received nearly 15,000 applications.

And given all the talk about people trying to break into front of the house at strip restaurants, this might be an opportunity.
From what I understand, non-union. And they've already hired most of their restaurant managers, who are going to headhunt the primo FOH positions. So the only opportunity will be for the runners and barbacks elsewhere, who move up when the FOH people leave to go to SLS.

People don't "break in" -- there are dues to be paid for all but the most superficial positions. (And those have auditions, not interviews.)

I didn't say primo. They'll need bussers, bar backs, and runners, who can break in there, then either move up there, or move laterally to other strip resorts and wait for a spot to open up, up the food chain. It would be someplace to start the process.

If you're applying, have any decent work history, don't have any felony convictions, and can pass a drug test, how far up the list does that move you?

When you have everything to gain and nothing to lose apply, just apply.

it doesn't. the opportunities will be elsewhere. a lot of experienced will go to the sls, creating openings elsewhere. happened exactly the same way at the Cosmopolitan.

And then half the people who went to the "promised land" of the Cosmo were asking for their old jobs back six months later. I have a feeling it's going to be the same thing at SLS.

I'm happy where I am. But even if I wasn't, I wouldn't go to SLS. I don't see any kind of marketing strategy, nor a stable of high-end restaurants, nor a glitzy nightclub, dayclub, and pool venue. That's where all the money is these days. Any property that does not have these things is not going to do well.
